An easy question for the AC gurus...
Ordered replacement o-rings from the dealer for the Air Conditioning system hoses on my '84 Carrera.
The replacements I got are the dark green o-rings, I think they assume you are upgrading to R134a. I am not upgrading but intend to use an R12 substitute like Freeze 12 or similar. Am I safe with these o-rings? I am assume I am but have learned to assume nothing... Thanks! BG

BG,
I don't have an answer as to the color and what is the use,,,,but I can tell you that Freeze 12 has no effect and requires NOTHING when you replace it from the Freon R12. I have done so last spring on my car. The only requirement is to completely remove all the R 12 and just pump in the Freeze 12. As far as the o ring issue I would have to guess that the o ring is nothing more than a seal for any and all that is installed. The color can be checked by calling your local A/C guys and asking for sure. But if it were me, I would not even consider it a problem. Anyway thats my 2 Cents.
