I´m Confused about two things, please help me out.
Hi everybody!
I been looking back in old threads in the forum and it´s seems like very confusing. Here´s my problems: 1. Can I use my headers (from an old Carrera) to make a better system for my Turbo or are not the steel good enough in them??? (I meen is there some risk for the materia to crack and flow into my turbine or something like it.) 2. Thinking of changing cams in it under the winter, some say I shold go for SC-cams, I now they are more agressive then the original 930-cams but are that a good way to go??? I would be very glad if someone has did anything of this and could share me some info. /Jocke

turbo headers are totally different from those made for a carrera, if you mean the aftermarket type. you can use the stock SC and carrera heat exchangers along with the 78 up turbo side pipe (wastegate pipe) on your turbo. SC cams work very well for improving throttle response and driveability. i've never had any complaints. don't just regrind the turbo cams. have them hard welded and reprofiled so the original base circle stays the same. webcam does a good job.

OK John, Thanks, I dont think I understand what you meen but,
These are the one´s I planed to use, what do you think about them?: The reason is to get a shorter way to the turbo, the turbo are stay in its original place. I dont understand the reason they build it like this: /Jocke

those headers just attach to the muffler. there's nowhere for the turbo or the wastegate to mount on them. do a search for a stainless header maker like GHL or B+B, to see what they look like.

John Walker, I know a fellow who has a 23 window that has been sitting on his property for at least 15 years. Would you like me to see if it's for sale? It's in Saratoga, California.

15 years in the weather doesn't do them much good. i would imagine it's got huge rust problems. if it was under cover on cement all that time, maybe it's still restorable.

Allright John, I guess we talk different langues... not that strange I mean Me in Sweden and You in the US somewhere.
My plan is to take this Headers and fit them together into one pipe (3") then go to the turbo and ofcourse put the wastegate between it. The only thing I was worry about was if the steel in the headers could stand the heat the Turbo-engine produce. Maybe I was little "dizzy" in my description on the earlier request, but I will check on the web as you told me. Thanks Jocke

ok, now i understand. if you have ever seen a 930 on a dyno, the stainless headers get bright red. mild steel headers would not be good in this situation.
