I was wondering that, too. If it comes to it, my local place would charge $69 just to recover the refrigerant remaining in the system. They charge $30 per pound for R134a when recharging.

OR, I spend $40 or so for this tool and replace the valve myself, assuming I'd be able to figure out the correct schrader valve. Anyone know?
