Please read I'm a smoking idiot.

To be fair I really am an idiot. I'm a 41 year old man on his way to work this morning and was goaded into running my car hard to impress a 17 year old in a civic. I was running 80 and he came up behind me doing 110 or so then passed on my left. I'm from Tennessee and a little bit of Redneck never completely gets diluted from the blood, so,.....I'm doing 140 to pass this kid....Okay...I exaggerate slightly.....but
all is good, humming along easy at around 4500rpm. Smooth as silk. Flash forward. Afternoon....everytime I come to a stop I noticed a cloud of smoke following me. Blue smoke. No doubt oil.The thing is,..it only does this after a stop and being under load. I can sit in the driveway and rev away and it burns clean. Oil senders are bran new and no leaks. It has to be coming from the exhaust but why only under load? Any Input. Yours truly, !@#$% idiot.

4500 should not have done much to the engine. I do that all the time.

If I were you, I would either do a compression check or remove heat exchangers and see which valve is wet or evident of oil leak past the valve seals.

Heck once in awhile a good I-tune up is needed for our old gals.

Thanks Draco. Not actually sure what the rpms were. A bit higher than 4500 I imagine. I have hit the rev limiter a couple of times and with the SW chip thats a bit higher than stock but not by much. The 120 or so I ran this morning was only for about 20 seconds and the highest I've had it in a long time.Maybe 5500? Not sure, I was looking at the dumbass fart can on the Civic. The car only has about 100k on it. I'm not ready for a top end build. (having too much fun riding) I've never done a compression test by myself but I may learn how. I'm just curious as to why it only smokes under load..........

These engines live above 4000 rpm. I routinely go there on every drive.

However, the increase in the max rpm might not be a good thing in the long run.

You're not an idiot. I do that all the time literally every time I drive my car, and I'm in my mid fifties. It's probably something simple, like you broke some carbon loose. Run a tank with Techron.

Oil level is work checking. If too high, you might be sucking plenty into the intake via the breather hose at WOT.

Something isn't right...I cruise at 6200 RPM in 5th on the Autobahn for long periods of time on a stock chip. Wait until the oil heats up to go above 4500 RPM and then regularly exercise it above 5000. Sweet sound and performance.

Mine gets an Italian tune up at least once a week. No issues like that. As the other guys said, check oil level. When engine is warm. Car is level.

I bet your oil tank is too full and you normally drive it so conservatively you never noticed. High RPMs and a warm engine might have let the oil expand from the heat and the engine is sucking oil into the intake.

If not that, then valves or rings, but I would check oil level when warm first.

The engines are designed to run at 4500 or 5500 so you should not worry about that.
Over revving is the only time to worry.

Thanks guys. Good point. My oil level does look to be 1/2 quart or so high.
fanaudical also a good point. That could explain why it feels like it only does it under load. I'll try not to freak out just yet.
