Picture of 3.2 fuel filter bracket?

Hi guys,
I need to buy or fabricate a fuel filter bracket for my SC with 3.2. Currently I have a fabricated combo coil+fuel filter console but I'm going to twin coils and the old bracket will be in the way. I wasn't able to find the bracket in the PET.

Anyone have a picture of the fuel filter bracket in a 3.2 Carrera?. I can find pictures of the mounted filter but the filter hides the bracket...

Thanks in advance,
-Chris

930 356 041 01, #17 on PET 201-10 in the fuel system area. It is shown with the three 6mm bolts in the foreground (they protrude thru the wall into the LR wheel well), which is opposite to the way the human normally sees the part. Regretably, don' have a pix.

The bracket isn't bolted on. It looks to be a spot weld. (At least I can't feel any sort of fastener back there.)

You have seen this view . . .

But here is a 'taste' of what you are looking for . . .

I jammed the cell camera as far back as I could. You can see the flat bent flap where it attaches to the body. The filter side is a curved flap bent upward that starts at about the middle of the filter and curves around about 45° towards the back. The hose clamp just hooks over the top of it.

If you are worried about making it look "really original" the only way I can see of doing that would be to get a curved piece of flat stock and weld it to a flat section with a bent mounting flange for the body side. The fact is that you can't see the vertical curved section where it actually mounts so bending up a couple tabs that the clamp can hook on would work fine.

Here are some pictures. You can fabricate something similar and attach it to the studs for the fuel accumulator that originally came on your car.

You guys are awesome! I'm going to make my TIG welder earn its keep this weekend. Any idea how thick the metal should be for this bracket?
The beauty of the bracket being hidden is that no one will see my crappy welds. :-)

Seems like a perfect thing to practice a basic weld.

How much play is in the hard line?
It would be good to have a helper position the filter while you mark out and position exactly where the clamp thing goes.
