Using Timing Light on Twin Plug Engine?

I need to check the timing on a twin plug 3.0 engine. Do I just connect it to number 1 spark plug cable as I would for a stock single plug engine? Can I use my timing advance knob on the timing light or will the readings be off for a twin plug engine?

Use #1 plug just like on a single-ignition engine.

Time the car just like you would with your dial-back timing light, but bear in mind the differences in timing values.

I think what Steve is referring to is that you don't use the single plug timing numbers on a twin plug engine.

IIRC, A single plug 3.0 engine idles 5deg before TDC and advances to 25 deg at 6000rpm.

Because a twin plug is more efficient at burning the fuel charge there will be less timing advance required to get the power out of it.

I just don't personally know what the numbers are.

Someone chime in with those deets!?

Yes. Would be great to know the timing numbers for a twin plug 3.0.
