Engine stalls at times

I have a 1986 911. Problem is car starts okay when cold and allows engine to be revved smooth as it warms up, however when engine reaches normal operating temp it runs erratic, doesn't allow normal smooth revving of engine. At idle it runs ok sometimes then sometimes it will choke out and all times will not allow smooth revving...very rough. Car has new fuel filter, battery shows 14.0 volts at idle and no apparent loss of vacuum....(removed oil cap..no change). Help ! Thanks.

Actually, if cap is removed, it should lower the idle, if no change you have a vacuum leak.

Check behind the throttle body, cruise control of breather cap on the engine block on top at the "triangle" area.

You could measure the resistance of your Cylinder Head Temperature sensor (CHT) when it is warm

just jumper it out with a paperclip once warm. if the problem goes away its your cht sensor. im betting that's what it is.

Hey, just thinking here...if dash temp indicator seems to be working normal and indicating the is warming up normally to usual level wouldn't this mean CHT sensor is functioning ok ?

Are there two CHT sensors or just one on 1986 911 3.2 ?

stalling

Had the same with my 87, looked for vacuum leaks, CHT, and finally turned out to be the O2 sensor

Thanks for input on O2 sensor....currently waiting on new CHT sensor to arrive. Couldn't find any leaks so hoping CHT or maybe O2.
