My 1970 911T speedo quit working quite suddenly as it had been working fine. I disconnected the cable from the speedo and drove the car. The cable did not turn. I tried to turn the cable by hand, but it would only go a few twists before some resistance was felt. So, I don't think that the cable is broken. The last thing I can think of is the gear assembly driven by the transmission. Does that seem likely, and if so, about what does a part like that cost?

Hmm, my guess is bad cable. Don't some of the early cable driven speedos utilize a 90 degree adapter??
