Can you I.D. this wire

As a new p-car owner, i don't have a service manual yet, and therefore no access to a schematic.

Tonite while inspecting things under the car i found a grommet out of its hole just in front of the transmission, just to the right of center.
Luckily i decided to inspect the wiring rather than just reinstall the grommet, and found both wires had chaffed thru the jacketing and bare wire was exposed. I'll repair them but was curious as to what they go to. The wires are inside a black sheath, and it runs up around the top of the transmission disappearing somewhere above the starter.

Here are a few pics:

Pointing toward the hole where the wires come out of the body

The two wires with black jacketing trimmed away.

Here is the wire where it travels up the right side of transmisison and out of view.

Mr. New Porsche Dude that almost bought a Mighty Turbo, butt in the end, settled for a mere, naturally aspirated 911 (), those are the two wires that are attached to the speedometer sensor puck (they are not removable from the puck) that is installed on the differential housing (the puck senses the magnets that are attached to the magnet carrier which spins along with the differential assembly). If you remove the access cover on the "hump" between the rear seats, you will see a plastic, double wire connector - that is where the puck/wire assembly connects to the longer length of wire(s) that travels through the "tunnel", behind the dash, and to the speedometer.

I know, I know,...... i'm still sad

Thank you sir for the quick response. I'm so glad i found this on my terms and actually took the extra 4 seconds to inspect the wiring. Everything is still intact, but imagine the tail chasing i'd have done when my speedo started acting up.
