Window crank knob split.
Does anyone have a solution for the spilt window crank knob problem? The driver's side crank knob was split when I bought my car, I bought a replacement (Performance Products, as I recall), and within a couple of years it split again. I am not hard on the window crank. It appears that the knob has a seam that is inclined to splitting. Are the OEM knobs any good?
Thanks, Doug 75 911S |

I replaced mine with aluminum....turned on a lathe.
I just copied the originals ...with the intention of getting them black anodised later. The nice thing...they are tapped..so I use machind screws to hold them on (makes them removeable). Bob

Even without being hard on the crank, the originals are weak. It never hurts to be sure the winding mechanism is well lubed...
