Need advise from experts
Need help to decide which path to take. I have an 86 carrera roller with a salvage title
In Florida. Body needs paint and interior is almost complete except for seats. Needs motor transmission and fuel tank. Is this project worth attempting or is it worth more in parts. Will car never have a good value going from salvage title to rebuilt title. Would appreciate any feed back. |

With a salvage title it will never be worth close to what one with a clean title will be worth. That being said, WHY it was issued a salvage title does have an impact (i.e. bad accident, frame damage, torn in half, lit on fire and burned to a crisp, flood damage or on the other spectrum, "stolen and paid off to owner with excellent insurance, only to be recovered clean as a whistle afterwards") however, with the cost of the powertrain and the work it sounds like it needs, my guess is that you won't recover the money you put into it when you are done, but that you would make some decent money in parts if you part it out if its straight and not a rust bucket.

Honestly, if you keep it,it will have value to you. But Salvaged title and basically ground up build, it will not be worth it it for future resale unless you get 6 figures for it but that is unlikely. Sorry to be a downer.
