External regulated Alternator

Are the externally regulated Alternator's even available (78sc)?

The plastic bearing support end cap on mine crumbled to pieces when I was removing the Alt from the fan shroud. The Brushes are also near the end of their life. I have called around locally (Seattle area) to have it rebuilt but with no luck.

Or must I get the internal regulated one and make the diffuser mods and wiring mods?

I have a rebuilt one in my shop, somewhere. If you are interested you can have it for cheep!
