Need Help With Part ID
I need a little help identifying a part that I got awhile back for the never-ending restoration of my 911. I found four of these in a bag on the back of a shop shelf and just can't recall what they're for. Yes, it is embarrassing to have to ask if anyone recogizes what they're for, but since I've got them I'd sure like to use them...and I suppose, at some point, I must have thought that my car deserved new ones. Anyway, the part number on the bag appears to be 901.521.191.00 and the description is "pad". I'm hoping someone with a PET could look up the p/n, or, perhaps, recognize the part in the following picture, and tell me what they're for. Thanks for the help.

Can you do a part number look up in PET, or did you just know that?

Wayne, you can run a part number check in PET but it will only give you a description of the part (often very vague) not tell you which model/year the part is for.

Andy is right, I find it very annoying that you still have to search through the parts listings to identify the part correctly.... maybe I am missing something in the way I use the PET?
Wayne, I don't think Bob has a PET. |

Nick, Thanks for the quick reply! They're for a pair of sport seats I picked up...used as a pad on the support for the backrest pivot mechanism. It's a bit of a relief to know since it was bothering me that I couldn't figure out where they went. By the way, I really enjoy your webpage...it's an inspiration to me as I work towards the completion of my Carrera.
Wayne, Nick is right, I don't have a PET...hoping to find a copy soon since I REALLY need it...I'm still using some partial copies I made from the parts microfiche (Dark Ages).

So, has the issue with legality of the PET CD's being sold online been established yet? I could really use one, but am concerned about getting into hot water.

Also, has anyone here purchased one of these CD's claiming to be "Repair and Service Manuals on CD". See the link below.
Are they legal and if so any good compared to the Bently or Porsche workshop manuals? Thanks
