Help with accessing the center dash speaker on my 73 Targa

I need to access the center dash speaker on my 73 Targa and was wondering if I can get to it by removing the heater box at the rear of the trunk? I would really like to avoid removing the upper dash. Any helpful hints, pictures or advice would be greatly appreciated.

John

Facing the frunk, try and reach in from the left side John. Not sure what you want to accomplish so there may or may not be enough space.

Hi John,

Below is a link to our tech articles; specifically on the dash section of the 911. I hope this is helpful for you. Good luck!

Thanks discseven and dimitry

Thanks guys

I am restoring my 73 Targa and am back to the passenger compartment. The original radio is "toast" so I will be replacing it with a retro look radio from Woody's Custom Shop. I have to get to the speaker to insure it is working and to make sure it has the proper connections for the new radio. Looking at the left side of the trunk and feeling around as per discseven's suggestion, I believe I can access and if necessary remove the speaker by first removing the heater control box at the rear of the trunk. I'll give it a try and update the forum if I am successful.

thanks for the help

John
