Just bought UTCIS controller from unwired tools

I purchased a digital controller (basically a wur) from Steve at un wired tools and he has been fantastic to deal with we exchanged at least ten emails to inquire about this unit and configure it properly. You can fine tune this with a laptop and the software that they supply. Going to install tomorrow. 1982 sc. The photo of the cable is the programming cable to connect the new device to the computer to fine tune it.

Okay, installed the controller (digital wur) very easy did it in 10 minutes, car runs unbelievably smooth idles perfect, accelerates great, no hesitation smooth as can be. Next week I'm going to hook it up to my laptop and check out the fine tuning aspects.

I forgot to ask what prompted you to make the modification? Was your system running poorly?

They threw in the cable for free no shipping charges or tax for either.

Could not get three different WURs to stabilize the control pressures even though I made them adjustable. I took them all apart and cleaned and tested them the best I could. One would raise the pressures to fast another too slow. Idle speed would change the car would surge slightly while driving. Now it's like a new engine. I just rebuilt the engine last winter valve job, head stud sand rings ect...

My tax bill for my home and property is 800 a month. I can spend this to make my car run great one time. Easy decision. No more using a gauge to check pressures (what a pain that is). Just plug it into a laptop and read everything on a computer screen and change the curve and pressure applications no fuel squirting all over etc... You can tune this to your specific needs if you build a racing engine to increase your horsepower or add a turbo. No need to tap in a bolt you threaded into the pin on your mechanical outdated wur all digital.

Looks like a great upgrade- how did you get the free cable deal?

Thanks for making us aware of this option.

Keep us up to date on your experience and longer term durability. It's a great idea and several of us have tried the older units. The earlier units seemed to encounter various, which I am assuming have now been worked out.

Steve is the contact guy he is extremely helpful. He and I have 20 email exchanges during the purchase of the controller. They sold me a lap top they had hanging around collecting dust for 110 dollars. A older IBM think pad with the software loaded on it to tune the digital controller. Good service.

The older units used a step motor the new units use a frequency valve/ injector to control the pressure along with manifold vacuum.

Steve was nice enough to throw it in as I was interested in tuning a engine/ controller from a laptop for the first time.

So, what was your cold start pressure after installing the new unit? Was it good from the get go or did you need to adjust with the laptop program?

Yeah, it cost less than my monthly power bill and food for a week combined.
I think it's the best money I spent on this car so far. Which is A LOT.
