Actually Randy, despite the rain, our own Pacific NW isn't a bad place to look either, if the car had a garage, thus being in out of the rain, much of it's life. You might see rock chips galore, but at least Orygun uses volcanic cinders to give traction when it snows instead of laying down the salt. Just avoid cars that spent much time near salt water, like the Puget Sound...Beware of worn out windshield wiper motors & linkages tho..

FWIW, a guy in the Rennlist classifieds "Race cars for sale" has a gorgeous '69 911S for $12,500. If it were not red, I'd be very, very tempted. The ad number is 39221.

Regards,
Jurgen

Jurgen, looked for a solid year before getting mine. I got exactly what I was looking for because I was willing to wait. The hunt is half the fun. There is sooo much misrepresented crap out there it's hard to believe. I'm no expert but I spent a significant amount of time reading, hanging out with a lot of Porsche guys, going to DE events, concourse etc. The more you expose yourself to, the more you learn. It enabled me to narrow down the field on my own before I had to get people with more experience than me involved. Obviously this saved both time and money. Be patient...you'll find what you're looking for...eventually.

My offer was countered to $11.5 but I had to take it without a PPI
After that, I wouldn't have wasted my time. What a bummer. Keep on looking. You should be able to find a nice torquey T for that coin!

PWD -

Like the Puget Sound?? You must mean the Pacific Ocean.

Yes, if the car's been parked IN the sound I'd worry about rust. Otherwise, there's not enough spray off of the sound to get salt in the air.
