Post Adding Fog Lights?

My car didn't come with fog lights, and I'd like to add them. I'm still toying with the idea of installing either RUF bumpers, or simply replacing the current valance with the later model version that has the integrated, recessed fog lights (I believe '84 was the first year for this).

I'll be taking out my winshield soon to replace it, and I also have a new dash to install as well. I figured that would be the ideal time to add the fogs, being that I'll have access to the dash innards.

I have a line on the valance, fog lights and a switch, but I need some direction on the wiring. Would my factory wiring harness have the necessary connectors for adding all of the components, or will I have to buy a harness for this?

Thanks!

I am in the middle of the very same job... You will probably need a different fog light switch, the correct one turns and pulls.
You will also need a black relay and a relay plate, which comes with wiring, you will need to extend from this though.
I have routed the wires from the lights into the luggage compartment, up to the fuse box. I still have to run the cable to the switch and install the new one. This means taking the fresh air components out or disconnecting some of them - need time to do this bit !!!
Good luck with yours ... if you come across anything interesting, let me know..

Check your fuse pannel in the trunk. The '78 should have wiring and relay provisions for the missing lights. On my '78 I simply purchased the relay, all the wiring was there.
Hope yours is the same.
