OK -
This might be a dumb question -- but has anyone ever swapped the speedo and the oil pres/temp gauge in the dash...and/or can you? It looks like they might be the same size, and on my dash the oil pres/temp gauge is clear of the steering wheel where as the 80/90/100 mph marks on my speedo are not. Wonder if someone has done this, tried it, or has a good reason why the speedo should only be to the right of the tach. Thought I'd ask here before pulling them all out :-) Hmmmm

I have never tried it, but it shouldn't be to hard to test. The gauges are held in with friction, so you only have to pull them out of the dash (no tools required). This would allow you to measure the openings to see if it would work. This would also give you easy access to the wiring to make sure there is enough length to make the move.
Sorry I don't have a more direct "yes or no", but hope this helps.

You can try it.
Probably the biggest limitation will be the wiring for the individual gauges. They are basically long enough to pull the gauges out of the dash and unplug/plug them at the back. I don't think they will be long enough to reach across. |

Wires are too short to reach over to the other side but I guess you can extended if you are insistent on doing this. You will see when you pull the speedo out
Just to be different eh?

When I'm using my smaller steering wheel I just rotate the speedo CCW so I can see the 0-100 range.

Send it to North Hollywood Speedo and get the gauge face\needle adjusted.

Barring all else the Speedo & Tach are much much larger than the other gauges; you can easily lengthen the necessary wiring, but it's not easy to change the size of the holes in the dash
