I searched for a while and came up blank too. Very close to copper brown metallic at 463. Need more info on the car. What is the VIN (you can omit the last 4)? You can always do a COA as well.

The '9' designates the place of paint application, which in this case is the Porsche factory. The '3' is for the brand of paint used, which is Herberts.

Kunst-harz-lack = Artificial-Resin-Laquer

463 is Casablanca beige metallic, a very light gold. 406 is gold metallic.
443 is copper BRONZE metallic. Copper BROWN metallic is 432. I don't see a listing for 460 anywhere.
This is the most accurate color code for Porsches I've seen anywhere, you can pick the shade you want, this is the 'beige/brown' page:

My redbook shows nothing and all the usual paint matching websites aren't showing anything either.

Looking into the so called "Special wish" colors and how they were noted might solve the riddle.
Post a pic of the body if you can. It looks metallic in that picture. How would you describe it?

What color is the interior out of curiosity?

It is metallic in color - I'm waiting on the coa, but that may not solve the mystery. Interior is a beige color. Will post a body pic in a few.

Going to purchase the car and do a complete resto on it.

Porsche got back to me and the COA states "Metallic Paint to Sample/99, Timor Braun"
Seems to be a Volkswagen color of the same era.

Would be interested to see if any other Porsches are painted this color! I'm sure it's not many!

Very good news. This is perhaps the first time I have heard that PCNA has been able to come up with the original color for a "Paint to Sample/99". That bodes well for the future. I have a long list of such custom codes of unknown colors.
Did you correspond with anyone in particular, and did you have to ask specifically about the color name?
The color may be unique to a Porsche, certainly no others in my database.
1977 VW Timor Brown Metallic L97F seems to be the correct VW code, not the later 1984 Timor Beige H8T

I spoke with Linda, but she was corresponding with someone I'm assuming in Germany who was providing her with the information. A buddy has a 79 PTS 930 and his coa also states metallic paint to sample,99/grey,beige but that was a Porsche color used previously. So maybe it was easier for them to locate that color name. I was also very surprised that they were able to get my color name. I believe she mentioned that it was listed on the original build sheet that they did pull up.

I happened on this post researching color code 460. It is referenced in the 1974 brochure where the ATS "cookie cutters" could be ordered in "steel blue metallic (M-No 460)".

I would guess M-No was short for Model Number? Probably has nothing to do with a color code...

I would tend to agree as that is also not the code for gazelle metallic(the gold one)

An M-No is an option number, nothing to do with paint codes.
