Question Question about running oil coolers in series

This weekend I am installing a front mounted oil cooler behind my RUF bumper cap to prepare for the cooling needs of the soon to be 3.6. I will run the front cooler in series with the fender mounted Carerra cooler. Question is which of the two lines at the Carrera cooler should be used to run to the front cooler? I would like to run the oil to the front and then to the fender mounted unit, but which line feeds oil into the cooler and which line feeds oil from the cooler to the motor? Any thoughts?

Follow the oil line that comes out of the left side of the engine case. That is the pressure side of the pump. You can run the coolers in series, we do it all the time as you know it gets hot in July @ Willow.

You can also tell which is the supply and which is the return to your cooler by feeling the relative temp of the lines when your engine is hot. The cooler line is the return.

While it is ideal to get the hottest oil to the front cooler first, since it will supposedly get the best flow (if you are providing for that) and exchange the heat quicker, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Make your decision based on how it would be easiest to plumb the system. Put your fender cooler fan on a manual switch to the dash so you can activate it whenever you want and duct around it, if you find you need more flow there.
