EGT - what's normal
Reading temperature with an IR thermometer at the headers, what do you guys see? Wondering what is normal.

on my turbo car I get 700 at idle and cruising I get 1200 on full throttle I get 14-1500 degrees

I get around 400F near the flange at idle on my 87 with headers

For WOT, I think 1500 is going to be too lean for a NA car. 1300 seems safe, 1400 maybe as hot as you might want? I have no experience with turbos (other than our '07, which is a street car and runs as Porsche programmed it).

I doubt you will find much useful information on EGT here since hardy anyone monitors this and even fewer understand what it means. However you will find all the information you need if you Google search EGT, paying particular attention to rich of peak (ROP) and lean of peak (LOP) discussions.
