... high resolution Check, Measure, and Adjust

I would like to create a high resolution and dynamic pdf of the Check, Measure and Adjust manual for mechanical fuel injection. To do this I need to borrow a fairly clean original to properly scan it and convert the image to text.

I wouldn't need it for more than a week and I would, of course, offer the finished product to members of this board.

If anyone is willing to help please send a PM.

I'm certain you've secured the rights to the material, and that Porsche has approved the public distribution and electronic reproduction of their licensed materials?

Not trying to be a smart-ass, but isn't that kinda against the law?

We've had this on our site for about 3-4 years now. Porsche scrolls through our site just about every day (legal dept does - trust me I know). Their non-inforcement of parts diagrams and these older documents would thus put them into the realm of public domain. I've researched this before.

The MFI booklet is available here:

I realize the document is available through this web site... I've used it many times. But it is a fairly low resolution scan (for obvious reasons) which makes much of the small text and many images difficult, if not impossible to read.

What I was intending to do is make the document perfectly legible with higher resolution images. It would also be fairly dynamic so you could link the table of contents directly to the manual. If Wayne was willing (and the document is indeed considered public domain) he could replace his older document with this new one... just an idea...

Derek, all your comments are spot on. This is an excellent project. I don't know how I could help offhand; however, if you have any suggestions, I'm willing to do whatever I can to support this.

Guys,

Thanks for the encouragement... all I need at this point is a nice clean original document, which I haven't been able to find locally... I'll let you know how things progress (or don't).
