Temp Question

I have a buddy that has a 1983 with a new 3.6 and his operating temp barely goes over 140F even after a few auto x runs. I keeping telling him that something is off, am I wrong?

Sender or gauge...or, they did not match the sender to the gauge when swapping out.

ya that's what i am thinking too. I'll check the ohm's produced at certain temps
