Got the seatbelt light to work, buzzer to go away. Made Euro jumpers.

Just thought I’d share a little mod I did to get my seatbelt light working. I thought it was out, and it was burned out. I didn’t know the buzzer was even a thing.

Euro cars have a jumper instead of the seatbelt relay and nothing. Cost $7 and I had to Dremel down the 4 pin as it’s narrow. Total cost $7

So I made some jumpers. It completes the circuit and bypasses the buzzer. No tone, seat belt light circuit work.

I might try that next time I have the instruments out. My relay had some weird issue long ago and I just pulled it out. It has been so long I don't remember what the problem was. I always use my seatbelt, and I don't let my passengers ride unbuckled. I have not missed the seatbelt light in over 2 decades.

I pulled the relay when I bought the car. Great idea, I am going to do this.

Rool bar light-Targa.

This relay, according to my factory manual is
linked to the pass side door switch.

After your modification, is your roll bar
interior light working?

Thanks in advance,

Gerry

Yes everything works fine. Gerry, go a few pages into your schematic where you see the gauges. On that page you will see in brackets they talk about the jumpers as only 553 code cars ( US /Saudi have it ).

If you follow it, it just keeps the power and kicks off the buzzer. The violet wire goes to buzzer. They call the relay the controller..

Yes it is. I provided the pic to colour code what’s on the schematic. I just used standard auto store blade ps and crimped opus two jumpers. The brown wire you are referring to is just ground. The jumper connects the ground like there was never a relay. It goes Door-Relay-Powerwindow-ground point. All ground.

Door switch.

Just noticed that the pass door does not activate
the roll bar light.

Another to-doo for this weekend.

Gerry.

I hate the buzzer too, so I thought to do exactly what was described here: out relay and in some jumpers and the buzzing is gone. Well, when I opened the dash I found the jumpers were already there, and I still have this terrible buzzing sound.
Anyone knows where to look?
It's a 86 targa.
