I found doing stretch vs. torque that the bolts were not quite into the recommended stretch region. But I suspect the folks at ARP know that 40 lbs, used with their super duper lube, gets you close enough.
If you wanna do it again for the experience, go for it. But probably not necessary. |

Yea, good idea to use the stretch gauge. If you lube the threads and if there is not problem with the threads and if there is no dirt on the threads and if the bolts are all up to spec and if your torque wrench is calibrated, then the stretch will be in spec when torqued. |
