I keep hoping that you'll post that you went with low compression custom pistons because . . . turbo powaaaa' is on the way!!! :D

....everyone chant with us....

TUUUURBO ! TUURRRRBO! TUUUUUUURRRRRBO! TUUUUURRRRRBO!
TUUUURBO ! TUURRRRBO! TUUUUUUURRRRRBO! TUUUUURRRRRBO!

TUUUURBO ! TUURRRRBO! TUUUUUUURRRRRBO! TUUUUURRRRRBO!

^^^

I think that even with the chanting, ol' Dracholio is scaredy scared of the boost pipe - worried it will turn him into a proper freaky freazoid!

Trackrash 03-02-2017 07:41 PM

A 3,4 with 964 cams, sounds nice. Now with headers and a chip (maybe extrude hone and a bored throttle too) it would almost be in turbo land.

Can't wait to see the bling when it arrives.

Nah, I gave him and his better half a taste of the good stuff with a ride in the Grand National when they were here last summer. He has seen the dark side. 😈

Test fitted wrist pins and head to cylinder:

Was going to chamfer but even the piston has the 2MM step, so I am good with it.

Tori 03-03-2017 11:06 AM

GAH ! Artwork ! Be a shame to dirty them up with combustion......

but not really. ;)

DRACO A5OG 03-03-2017 11:22 AM

Can't wait to dirty her up :-)

How is your repairs going?

Beautiful pistons. Too bad they go way inside the motor and out of view. What CR are you expecting?

It will be interesting to see if there are any clearance issues when you check your deck height using clay.

Totally stalled out. The Buick came back from the body shop 5 weeks early, so i had to shelf everything, and stuff the car in the corner in order to have room to put it back together.
Now, it looks like my job will be ending in the next few months. :(

Probably not the best time to drop a bunch of $

Anyway,.... still looking for a single piston and cylinder.

DRACO A5OG 03-03-2017 11:34 AM

CR? I think 9.8:1, I may be wrong but if I chamfer the head's lip it should go to 9.7:1. I think I got that right, less compression. So 9.8:1. I measured the heads cc to 89.2

CP spec states: 34.25 cc (dome) - 0.56 cc (land volume).

Yeap, will double check deck clearance but I think I will be fine with 0.50MM gaskets as the old ones were 0.25MM and heads cut 0.18MM.

I am wondering if I should seat the heads to the cylinders with grinding compound??? Since I have approximately 0.07MM of slack in height???
