Quick release hub for your steering wheel.
Remove critical components. DME relay, fuses...
Big dog.
Don't leave your car unattended for longer periods..

Theft.

All of the above are good.

Add a separate battery for the alarm system.

Also, a hidden kill switch.

However, if the bay guys want your car, they just tow it....

Best,

Gerry

Should I assume ZA corresponds to the country code? If the Grand Tour folks are to be believed, you are pretty much a target whenever you go out.

Just kidding.

Hidden kill switch or unplug the dizzy coil wire or the 14 pin connector when you walk away from a parked P-Car.

Nothing will stop a determined thief. Think about where you're driving before you drive there and all the places in between. If they aren't safe, find another route or don't take stuff you care about with you.

All it takes is one opportunity at the right time.

I have a switch for the fuel pump. Replaced the plastic cover of the ignition/steering wheel lock with a metal one preventing easy pulling of the lock.
I have a heavy duty wheel clamp when leaving the car overnight, preventing too easy towing away.

As said, if they want your car, they will take it from you.

Thanks everyone.
I will go down the quick release hub and am interested in the kill switch idea.

and yes, being from SA - i acknowledge, if they want it, they will steal it.

If you park your car often, say on the street, in the same place. Good luck.

A car cover is great. Most people don't bother with a covered car, unless they know what's under the cover and want your car.

On one of my cars, I have a hidden ignition kill switch and a fuel pump switch. Chaining the steering wheel to the seat helps.

A tow truck is hard to defend against.

When I used to use my 911 as a dd, I had a fenced parking lot at work and covered my car. At home it was in the garage.

Install a tilt sensor in case they decided to tow it or try to steal your wheels ( DEI Digital Tilt Motion Sensor - 507M $14 ebay ) .

Proximity / motion sensor once they are close or inside the vehicle (DEI 508D Dual Zone Proximity Disturbance Motion Sensor for Python, Viper, Avital $24 ebay ) .

A good steering wheel Club.

Install a fuel pump switch inside the trunk ( You can remove the fuel pump fuse in the box and rewire an additional external switch and fused $5 ).

Hope this help.
