Width of door window gap?

Hey team,

I'm rebuilding my driver side door and am curious about what the proper width is for the window gap in the top of the door. This is the gap formed between the top of the outer skin and the top of the inner skin of the door.

To be clear, this is the gap that includes space for the felt, the squeegee, and the glass itself. It's covered up by the exterior trim when that trim is in place.

The top of my door is a little mangled and bent from work over the years (I guess.)

The passenger door seemed to be about 3/4" opening, while the driver door is more like 1". I assume one of those (or something in between) is the right answer.

Does anyone have their door open and can take a quick measurement for me?

I got about an inch (just a hair under), both driver and passenger sides.

Anyone else? Would be good to document this for other door-rebuilders.
