Need help finding CIS part for 81

on my 81 SC, I have a small crack in the black rubber hose at the AAV (the red thingy in the picture). What I need is the rubber hose in this pic. Anyone know where I could source a new one? if they are NLA, can I fab one up? I was not able to find one in the catalog.

Steve,

The red thingy in the picture is the AAR (auxiliary air regulator) and the round saucer like thingy is the AAV (auxiliary air valve). These two components are commonly mistaken for one another because on the language translation from German to English in the early years. Anyway, if you need the vacuum hose for '80-'83 SC, you would need the three-legged vacuum hose. The diagram shows the early CIS set up.

PM me if you still need a good used three legged vacuum hose for your engine. BTW, I never got a reply if you have recieved the WUR-045 I sent you. Thanks.

Tony

Tony - is the auxiliary air regulator (AAR) sometimes referred to as Fast Idle valve?

thanks,

KJ,

Well, this is the first time I heard the AAR referred as Fast Idle Valve. The AAR causes high cold idle because the metered air is by-passed directly above the throttle body. And the slide valve inside the AAR gradually closes as the heater heats up the bimetallic spring till fully closed. FIV (fast idle valve) is probably a good synonym for AAR.
