				Cam and intake choices

Thinking of different intake systems and cam choices for my engine rebuild. The basics are a 78 3.0L with SSI now. Planning to do 3.2SS with 9.5cr. Was planning to keep the CIS and use 964 or 20/21 cams and possibly down the road going to PMO carbs or EFI, if my budget allows. The sounds of IBT"s is awesome not to mention the performance gains. My questions are if I use either of these cams(or is there another cam choice) would they be sufficient if i switched to carbs or EFI down the road and the pro and cons of using carbs or EFI. Also anyone out there using 964 cams or 20/21 cams with either carbs or EFI. Would appreciate your imput. Thanks jerry

964 cams are absolutely fine for PMOs or EFI. I've used them in several builds of both configurations. If going for max performance you do leave a lot on the table but they're fine if planning to upgrade induction at a later date.

Are the gains in HP so modest when converting to carbs or efi when using either of these cams so not worth the extra cost. Anyone have HP figures for comparing the differences

Al, I had sent you an e-mail through your website contact page a few weeks ago to discuss a similar build using your EFI. Not sure if you got it. Be interested in talking with you. Thanks jerry
