Outer Window Scrapers on doors.
 

I have no idea what you lot call them but we call them Window Scrapers.
I am after some info please on the outer trim that fits between the door & the glass on a 3.2 Carrera. Do they fit all of the way from the door frame to the 1/4 light or is there a gap? Both of the ones on my car have a gap of about 1/2" or so.

Nice little satisfying project to do replacing these. There are some threads showing before and after. I did new ones on my car after painting and the new ones are no longer gappy and with mine, they slid right in. This was an old thread I commented on 3 years ago, sorry but no photos. As I remember, you take off a few screwed on bits, put the window down and go at it.

This side of the pond, it's known as a squeegee (SKWEE-jee).

I installed new ones last summer and they were a perfect fit between the door frame. I did not trim them. They were the correct length out of the box.

Mine need to be replaced as well. My 73 has shrunken over an inch and my 86 maybe has a 1/2 inch of right/left play. Thanks for the link Jesse16

The easiest way to do this is to pop the aluminum track off the car. It's held on by 6 or so metal clips. Once off, you just slide the old ones out of the track and slide the new ones in. Plus you can clean the top of the door skin while the tracks are off :)

Well, I have just fitted the one's that arrived today from Design 911. What an easy job. 5 mins per side & they are perfect. No cutting/trimming needed :)
Remember trying to fit these to my old MK1 RS2000...... Nightmare job to get right.
As long as all jobs on the 911 are this easy then, Happy days ;)

The trim is held on by metal clips. Just gently start lifting and they'll come out quite easily (I had no trouble about bending te trim when I did mine). Clean and slide the new rubber scraper into the channel and pop it back on the door.

Oh, just you wait 'till you replace the darned seal around the front, fender-mounted oil cooler! Sheesh...

Looking to do this too. Can anybody provide the part number for the rubber scraper that typically shrinks over time? It's for an '87 911. There's a few dozen seals that all look the same.

Left: 911-531-931-02-M136

Right: 11-531-932-02-M136

Replacement was very easy, the steel black strip just pops up with minimal force and allows you to slide out the rubber strip which is covered with felt on the inside.

WD-40 into the rail to allow the rubber to slide in and pop the steel strip back in.

5 minute job."

Here are the part numbers (they are different for the Coupe versus Targa/Cabrio). Also, the left is different than the right:

So your part numbers that you listed are correct for a Coupe.

Item 11 is a different strip that goes underneath the front triangle window.

Item 13 is the metal strip that you have to pry up off the door.

Item 8 is the little springs that are attached to that metal strip that hold the metal strip in place. There are 7 per strip I believe.

I don't know that I'd say it's a 5 minute job, but it's not longer than a 15 minute job per side. I didn't need any soap or anything to put the new ones in or take the old ones out.
