New production authentic Fuchs wheels
Just sayin'
https://www.fuchsfelgeusa.com/ The 16x7 I ordered today runs $650. Heck of a lot better than a used, chewed up, possibly bent one at... how much are they going for these days?? ![]() ![]() I've been looking for one to matcha wheel I broke in 2009... never did find an acceptable one. Painting the black center will only run me $150. ![]()

It’s not going to match. The shape looks different.

(edit) actually, I think I'll wait an hour or so and call Fuchs in Germany directly to inquire

On the site the 17's and up certainly look different.
For the 16's they are taking preorders, but the picture does look identical to original ones. I thought new ones were still available with Porsche. Don't know if that is still the case. If so, it would be strange for Fuch to make a re-issue wheel that is identical and cheaper than the ones Porsche would still be selling, IMO.

Of course then a new wheel is better. If you were not able to find one decent wheel since 2009, then the problem is you, not availability. Not trying to be rude or anything. I've found, bought and sold multiple sets, all in very good condition. And I am sure a whole lot of other Pelicans have too. So you not being able to find one decent wheel?? That's either very unlikely or very very unlucky. They are out there.

My car's got 54,000 miles. Wheels are about as "new" as you can get. This was the most recent wheel presented as "in great shape" ![]() ![]() After refinishing and repainting, I'd probably be into it more than the new wheel. ![]()

I think it is very unlikely that Fuchs will reissue the exact same wheel at a much lower price if Porsche still has them in stock.
I don't think Porsche would appreciate that. I could be wrong. At first glance, that wheel is in good shape, just dirty.

Dear Mr. Macleod, thank you for your mail. Our forged wheels have the same dimensions as the old ones, so the original caps will definitely fit our 16 inch Fuchs wheels. I chatted with them yesterday and they are going to be a great option for authentic Fuchs forged wheels:
What's the release date on the 16" Fuchs? We will have them in stock in late September Currently taking pre orders Are there any pictures of the petals on the 16s? The 17s & 18s have a harder edge on the petals than the original Fuchs. Are the 16s like the originals or more like the newer, larger wheels? Yes exactly like the originals What about shipping? Are they coming from CA or Germany if shipped to a US destination? On a boat from Germany to Long Beach Yes from Ca to you What's the difference between your Fuchs wheels and what Porsche sells as "genuine" Fuchs wheels. An example from Suncoast Porsche parts: https://www.*************.com/product/SKUFUCHS167.html The current ones made by Otto Fuchs are 700 grams lighter Same offsets, width, cap size, finish etc

I remember being told ab out them being lighter when I inquired a few months ago. I wonder how they shaved off more than 24oz weight. Checked the Suncoast listing. I found it interesting... Aren't the 911 and the 944 Fuchs a different offset? Or am I wrong on that?

If they are built to the same specification and level of quality, I would be interested in a set.

Here's a set that would probably work well for me. $3,450.00 Or another set for $3,895.00 Or this $4000 set of 7's and 9's,,, For $2640, you bet I'd go for a set of 7's and 8's. I wonder what this will do to the used wheel prices.

Same dimensions, sure, but exactly the same design? Same petal design? Not slightly different like the others? Weird, but hey, why not? I hope they start making tires as well for the 16x9’s. ![]()

I had to laugh at the picture of the G body 911. It's a scale model...

It's actually of interest to me, as the petal design is a little bit different on the new 17" and 18" sizes, compared to what we're used to seeing on the old 15" and 16" wheels. So I wonder if the "new" 16" wheels will have the old petal design (that I assume most of us want), or if it'll follow the new petal design of the 17" and 18" versions. Apparently the 16" wheels only come in black centers, and there's only one small pic of an Arena Red car, so it's difficult to make out the exact design on these new 16" wheels. Not sure if I like the new design.

Ok, I just spoke to Andrei and Fuchsfelge USA.
He says the 16s are identical to the originals. Only the larger sizes have the different petal shapes. He also said they way they were able to shave off the weight is due to how the outers are spun. Sounded like they were able to get consistency down to 8 microns. Here's a photo from Parade he just emailed me. ![]()

I could not find anything on their website! Anyone has a link about the 16” on pre-order?
Found it on the US site but nothing on their German website, strange! Last edited by flashboarder; 08-21-2019 at 12:14 PM.. |

Also, I am told that the 17s will fit earlier cars when a spacer is used. Been tempted...
