Sorry if this is lame, but with regard to spark plug heat rating's eg for NKG bp6es
the number 6 being the heat rating, is the same for champion or bosh? My quetion is this, are these heat rating's universal to all manufacturers or do they use their own heat ratings. ------------------ |

It would be w-a-a-y too easy for spark plug makers to use the same heat range numbers, wouldn't it?
I have the NGK plug catalog (available for free at your NGK dealer) that has a cross reference chart for several brands. ------------------ '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA The Blue Bomber's Website "If it ain't broke...we'll help you fix it 'til it is!" |

and don't forget NGK plugs heat range is opposite of all others. so a "7" plug is colder than a "6" plug.

NGK has a very good website:
http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinfo/spark_plugs/ In the FAQ you'll find a link explaining how the part numbers are made up. Now if only somebody had a cross reference of the heat-ranges for NGK, Bosch and Champion. ------------------ Ed Hut 1966 911 2.0 |

NGK and bosch actually meet in the middle at "6". i did alot of research on this when i switched to NGK. incidentally, NGK has a great tech 1.800 number available at their site. try BP6EY.
