Picture request: engine short block top view

Any one have a good top view (looking down) of a short block?

I'm looking for a clean, clear picture of an engine with no accessories or intake installed, centered above the engine, no angle, straight down. I am trying to find this so I can print it to scale and use it as a template for an ITB project. Unfortunately, I don't have a spare engine for mock up.

Similar to this, but from the top side

Thanks in advance

That's a tall order considering the issues with parallax and lens distortion. I can shoot mine in a couple days, it's a 3.0 stock. But don't you mean long block? Short block is just the case, right?

How is this?

I can send you the full size if you like.

Cheers.

I suspect you would have to be the best machinist ever to build ITB's from a photo. I doubt even NASA could dimension that.

Cad File

Save yourself considerable amount of time. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/772699-flat-six-cad-file.html

I have used it for rough environment file, I have not check how accurate it is.

Get some cheap used carb manifolds.

harvardma 03-11-2017 11:22 AM

The Jenvey site gives the dimensions of the manifolds. I know the ports are 118mm center to center but not sure of the distance and offset from one side of the engine to the other.

Nice CAD work. Too bad the fan is backwards.

Thank you to those who tried to help.

This is exactly what I was looking for. The CAD file is amazing.

To clarify, I have a working Triumph ITB setup on my car that I am working on a push/pull linkage setup vs the weber crossbar setup. I want to get the linkage 95% before tearing my car apart again. Again, I was looking for a photo for a template.

Take a look at my linkage. Also triumph based, but with the bodies spaced out to 118mm

Maybe this helps. It's a DXF file of both flanges (911 and triumph) correctly aligned.

Good stuff.

A few years ago I modeled a manifold to adapt the triumph ITBs to the 911

And since then i've had them casted

So i'm all set on the manifolds.

I'm playing with a few different linkage options and aluminum fuel rails to replace the stock plastic ones now, since I can't leave well enough alone.

As i used the 911 bore spacing (118mm) i was able to use cheap, used fuel rails from a boxster :)
