Paul! That's great glass work.

Here are some pics of the Ruf rubber lip, hopefully I will figure out a way to mount it when the bumpers arrive

Thanks for the pictures Paul. I'm with Souk. Those plates you put in the fog light openings are really nice looking. Great job.

One other thing Paul. What is the description that McMaster-Carr uses for the rubber that you have? That looks like a good thickness and has the dull rubber finish to it.

Thanks.

BTW, I think i'll be ordering the front stuff from BW next week and i'll look into the turned-up lip issue.

ipapilot 04-05-2003 01:37 PM

Paul, that is truly fine craftmanship. Maybe you could send a little bit of your fiberglass skills my way. Like I said, I am considering trying to make those multifunction inlets, so your idea looks great.

MotoSook 04-08-2003 08:05 PM

Can one of you guys that have your parts measure the cooler opening for me, please? I am working on geting a cooler, and I'm working blindly right now.

Thanks,

Ed, you can go ahead and sens me them bumpers!! Ha Ha....I like em, they are gonna look sweet on your car! Do you have them mounted?

Dutchie 04-08-2003 10:48 PM

Still not mounted  still working on the interior Smitty. I hope to finish that next week. After that i still have to mount the shoks, brakes and spoiler before the bumpers can go on :( So i guess it will take a bit longer.

Wavey 04-09-2003 02:59 AM

Hey Souk Dude,

In 'Merican, that would be 23 1/4" wide. The height of the opening varies a bit, but it's between 3 7/8" and 4" high. The top of the opening starts at 6 5/8" down from the top edge of the bumper. Let me know if you need anything else.

BTW, all the $ are in for the you-know-what, so the order will probably be going in today! Vroom-vroom!

MotoSook 04-09-2003 04:11 AM

Wavey Dude, Thanks. I was getting confused with Ed's number. What this "cm" thing, me no like "cm" or "mm"! :D

Seriously, thanks for the snappy response guys.

Ed, I know how you feel..I can't get enough done. There is always something to be done on the dang car! Oh well, if I wanted it to be easy, I would have kept my Honda.

And Dude, I can't wait to scare the neighbors with my extra vroom, vroom.

beamonk 04-09-2003 04:49 AM

Well guys, I have gotton my front piece on and it looks great! I have the rear painted, but no nerf bar yet, should be here soon. The front spoiler is another question, have made a frame out of alum, whuch seems too flimsy, so back to the drawing board, but it is doable, just need the time to do it. Went to my friends and made a duel out sport muffler this weekend, slapped her on and it sounds great! There is really a noticeable power improvement, the engine feels like it needed it. I am going to send it to jethot for coating soon. Will put the rear on soon, but waiting for the jethot to come back before I install everything. Will try my hand at posting pics then. Got my first rock chip, aarrggg.

Dutchie 04-09-2003 09:50 AM

Great John ! Show us the pics please :) It,s great to see so many guys building a ruf lookalike. There will be lots of Ruf lookers on this forum soon. For me this board was the reason i bought them :D i saw Bill,s lovely car and i thought yes thats my car. Even stole Bill,s all black rear spoiler idea ;) Souk i wonder what we will do when we are finished with our cars ? I spend so much time on this car i would be lost without working on her :D

MotoSook 04-09-2003 05:25 PM

Ed, when we're done, we will just have to buy another one, right? :D

John, I'd like to see some pictures too, pleasse. I love pictures :)

FYI: I got a call frome Brad at BW Motorsports tonight, and his prices are still good. If you need info, e-mail me.

Yep, a Ruf valence. One will still have to use the stock bumpers and impact rubber trim (accordian).

ipapilot 04-15-2003 07:07 AM

FWIW, Brad at BW is still waiting to hear from a number of people who signed on to purchase bumpers in the group buy. In the interest of keeping a vendor open to future group buys and good prices why don't some of you guys call him just to let him know you are still interested. Also, on a cool note, he has decided to add a modified Ruf style front bumper to his line. It will be identical in basic shape to the original, but the fog light openings will be redesigned in favor of a brake duct. This should make those with more track aspirations a little happier and hopefully get some others off the purchasing fence. More details and hopefully pics to follow in a couple weeks.

rdane-
Is that a Dansk SS 2in-2out muffler. I have one waiting to be mounted on my car. Could you post more pics to see how the muffler looks? The car looks very nice!

rdane 04-19-2003 04:41 PM

It is a stainless Dansk 2/2. The increase in noise is a little tiring for long drives but it sure sounds sweet until then. Even my wife likes the gutteral sound of the exhaust a majority of the time. Looks perfect of the Ruf style rear. But it is surely cooking the fiberglass! Thank you for the compliment :D I am almost done with a year long project and couldn't be happier!
