I made a video about my 911's garage

Technical content? Well, you can see an oil change on my 1972/1995 911 in the opening shots.

This ended up taking a lot more time than I expected and I'm still not sure why I felt the need to make it. But maybe it will trigger some thoughts about the intangible qualities of places where you've worked on cars. Or maybe you'll simply get a chuckle of watching me try to act natural on camera.

Like it? Hate it? Think this should be moved elsewhere? Let me know in your replies.

Jack,

I enjoyed the video. Gave me some ideas for my own garage. Impressed you got that done for under $4K. If I had to pick one thing I wasn't a fan of, it would be the closing of the cabinet to transition segments. That's just my nitpicking though to give you more feedback. I thought production quality was really good. Appreciate you putting the time and effort to make this video.

Great Video Jack, I've always loved your garage so getting a tour and background on what is in it is awesome! Thanks for taking the time to do it

Love it! I keep thinking about your garage as I try and figure out how to make mine a better place to work. I have a very large garage but am prone to clutter and mess. I don't want to just fill the space with stuff but be more organized. I have a chair and ottoman that i can chill out and relax in it. All on a budget too. Just picked up a 80 inch tall metal cabinet for free from my wife's work that was getting rid of it. Not as think as the 12 gage but good enough to house all my nasty oil and fluids. Working on getting things put in certain places and it is working out. Started with a drawer for screwdrivers and then wrenches. SO I see some hope in actually getting organized but it will take time.
Cheers!
OH do you have the link where to make that Magana Flow muffler for your 911? I have a 82 3.0 that I want to make a muffler for but need the parts list

Did you shoot it and edit too? Pretty darn well done. Nice camera work. Kinda long black between some scenes. The "latching the door" transition did get a little tiresome but I get why you used it.

Mostly, I get why you made it......the garage. Who knows why you made the video?

Love it , perfect. Jack seems like one of those guys (unlike me) that simply does everything well. Yet, does it in such a way that he comes across as a humble, regular guy.

Well done, bravo.

Really great quality video, Jack. Do you do the videography yourself? Maybe we should get you in to do some DIY videos for us.

Well done Jack. Always a pleasure to see a well thought out and organized workspace. I'm inspired...

BTW, speaking of "a place for everything and everything in it's place" that was the advertising slogan for the Wooton Patent Desk Company back at the turn of the century. I saw a show of them some years ago - off the hook cool. Completely run out of business by new fangled metal office furniture...

Very nice workspace. I'll get mine there someday.

I agree on the tool organization. I sometimes put everything away and regroup two or three times during a project. That tool you pulled out for one thing has 10 friends just like it you don't need laying around.

Where was the mini fridge full of beer hiding?

Agree completely with the opening statement. You walk into your garage and all the day to day chaos disappears.
