Congratulations on the “rewards” ...
I’ve never seen it at a show , but I’ve seen it sat in the workshop and it sure is a nice little car . Pretty unassuming unless you know what it is . Even with the paint . The more you look , the more you see .... |
Well deserved. I can't imagine the others not doing the same thing soon...

My second build is done and time to show off! This was built starting with a 73 911, with metal flares, bumpers, and aluminum hood and handmade ducktail. No fiberglass was used. It has 930 turbo trailing arms and brakes with elephant racing bits and pieces. It has a front oil cooler and under fender oil cooler. External oil filler with custom machined cap. I used an extra large 25 litre center fill fuel tank with custom machined cap. 15x9 and 15x11 braid wheels with Michelin TB 15 tires. It's powered by a 3.5 litre Rothsport faux MFI but is actually EFI producing 350 HP. It coupled with a Euro 915 transmission with a Wevo short shift. Interior is Alcantara dash, headliner and other pieces. The livery was designed by the renowned car designer Freeman Thomas as a tribute to the 70 era Porsche 917 which was commonly referred to as the Hippie car. The livery along with all logo is painted using no vinyl. The paint job was done by Brad Diez at Speedzone paint. Those are the basics of the car with many more custom parts and touches. With 350 HP and weighing 2300 pounds it's incredibly fast and a thrill to drive. Today was its first outing.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1578202345.JPG

this hipi car deserves its own thread! beautiful!
|
never looked at this thread before as my build is a 930.
totally incredible. after looking at the whole thing, think I need to delete my build thread..... and it would be great to have a shop full of helpers. |
Love the 730 cap.
Much better than the 710 cap most cars have! ;) Beautiful car! |
Congrats on the beautiful car. I saw this at Rothsport a few months ago and was taken aback by the "faux MFI" - it really took me a few minutes to figure it out. Very cool implementation and fabulous attention to detail.

Outstanding.
Looking forward to seeing all 3 together. |
Absolutely incredible. As are your other cars. Beautiful beautiful work.

I've been working on the third build and went a much more conservative route as far as the livery goes. Albert blue with very very faint ghost stripes. I did spineybeck leather interior with woven leather for the seat inserts, mid dash and door panels. Engine on this is going to be a 3.8 EFI built by Jae at Mirage International. 930 brakes and trailing arms, dual cylinder brake master, Wevo short shift, centerfill 100 liter tank, all metal construction etc. Started life as a 72 911T.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1592870610.jpg
