Show Your Porsche Garage Set up
See post #16. I looked this over closely in the way back. Pure function. It's a fatty 2 car but speaks volumes.

What are you looking to see? How we utilize the space (organization) or what tools/garage gadgets are used for projects in a 2 car garage space? Showed my organization and set up at post #5 in this Pelican thread: Show Me Your Organized 1 Car Garage. Jack posted his below mine as well to show you how organized you can get.
With how the headroom is in my garage, a lift isn't as accessible since we use our overhead for a lot of storage. So, I am looking to utilize a QJ unit for my projects and since I do a lot of track events it'll be utilized out there as well. I posted a thread below that has A LOT of info about the units if interested. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/905491-free-ground-shipping-purchase-quickjack-lift-plus-free-atf.html |

Most Ferraris are barely driven, Miuras even less.

But that does not mean $700,000 worth of cars are sitting in the open air covered in piles of junk. Under a soft cover, and well tended after is what I would expect.

Thanks for the responses. Looking for how well a 2 stall car garage can be organized and still be functional. Was going to build a 30 x 40 pole building but looks like I will have to stay with the 2 stall garage. Thanks jerry

Only a single stall but it doubles as a dining room.

I reorganized my two car garage when I decided to built a 911. Up until then the garage was just for parking cars. Now I use the left side for the low rise hoist and everything is in tool cabinets and rolling tool drawers. There is room on the right for my wife's X5 or what have you. When I need more room I boot her car out and I have a couple heavy duty rolling tables that I can move around as needed. Since we upgraded the garage one of my kids rebuilt a jeep and the other did a Tacoma. There is enough room to work efficiently one vehicle at a time with the 2nd car out of the way.

A two car garage that is 20 feet wide can work well as a workshop, if you have a wide single door. I pull one car out and center the other. I have two bottom tool cabinets in the back for a work bench, and a row of 16 inch steel shelves going down one side, with two 6' x3' cabinets with doors on the back end.
I can service an engine while two cars are in the garage, but not anything to do with the wheels or suspension. Pulling the other car out can make all the difference, and I service my truck in the drive. 20 years ago, I worked at Grand Canyon National Park, and I lived in a small apartment with a porch and a small walk in storage closet by the door. I made a lock up cabinet for the porch which housed my tool box and mechanic's tools, and built shelves in the walk in for additional storage. I did a full car restoration in my driveway, although I did build my engine in a shed. That was one of the best cars I ever built, and one of the happiest periods in my life. I am telling you this because I want you to know that if you have the desire and the will, nothing can stop you from pursuing your dream. I set a goal of doing one thing on the car every day, no matter how small. Often, once I got started, I would do more. When you transform your garage, set a time aside every week to work on it. That is how it will get done. Once you have made a habit of spending a certain amount of time in the garage a week, the rest is easy. Last edited by DanielDudley; 04-18-2017 at 02:05 AM.. |

Just just sold the Vette so my truck could park inside again if I put the pcar up top. I'm busy sorting the pcar though since I just bought it and that is easier to do on the floor.
