No running idle
Hello,
I´ve a 3,0 SC euro from 1982, 204 HP and the engine runs normally very fine . But now after rebuilding the exhaust system from a G- to F-Model, the engine has only after warming up no running idle. Means if I stop the car and pull the clutch the engine stop immediately. But after that the engine starts up fine but I´ve to play with the throttel. Amazing is that the car runs fine before I Change the exhaust, but of course ín the winter break could always something happened. The only thing I changed on the CIS was that I closed the vacuum line after removing the rest of the air pump (the air pump was removed some years before). What I´ve done now is to remove, disamble and clean the warm-up regulator. But the WUR was really fine and clean inside and I checked it with a ohmmeter and the value was fine too (but until now I´ve done no pressure check). I know the next step is to check al the pressures, values and air leaks, but I hope some of the Experts here can locate the problem. So like explained runs fine, take the throttel perfect but has no idle speed if warm. What do you mean?

Hi Dimitry,
thanks for the link. Normally you are right about trouble shoot the idle issues with time setting, Distributor etc.. But these things must be alright. I guess it´s a part from the CIS which goes wrong and I hope someone can locate it .

if you removed the air pump it is likely you created an air leak,.
you may have accidentally unplug an air hose or you did not plug something up that needs to be plugged. exhaust will not effect the idle,at least to the point of not idling. check to see if your WUR is vacuum controlled. you may have changed something there.

Perhaps I´ve an air leak. But I only put the rest of the air pump away and close the vaccum line (see Picture, pos. 31). Or was this wrong and it´s a line for atmosphere?
