-D terminal on alternator question

Is the -D on the back of the alternator the same as system ground? I would say yes, because I have continuity from –D with the brown wires connected to any ground source. If that is true , then any component that needs to be connected to –D “could” be connected straight to ground to achieve the same goal. True?

Thanks

Just to illustrate to you how simple it is......

The three (3) brown wires going to D- (alternator) connected to AFS switch pin (cyl.4-5-6) using a test light is demonstrated below:

This time, the AFS switch pin (cyl.1-2-3) connected to the brown wire at the white connector using a test light:

Hope this show and tell demonstration will convince you what I have been telling you earlier. Just follow the sage advice of Dennis and you would be done already.

Lol, sage advice, now there's a term I haven't seen used in a long time.
Likely since I became an electrician 35 years or so ago! Maybe even 5 years before that in high school electronics class.

I agree, that is simple. And in the future if someone where to ask ME , where do the two wires from the AFS connect to I would tell them the one on the drivers side connects to the brown wire under the 14 pin connector that goes to pin 85 on the FR and the one on the passenger side goes to ANY GROUND or -D which are the same.
