3.6 conversion - Cyntex chip in 95 993

I recently looked at a 78 SC with a 3.6 conversion (ex 95 ROW 993) using a Cyntex chip from an Instant-G kit. It had an uneven idle and was hard to drive without stalling the motor.

Is this an indication of an underdeveloped chip? The 3.6 conversion would have been done in 2010 / 2011.

Does the chip maker still exist? I presume there are no upgrades.

Google couldn't find any modern results and discussion of the Cyntex chip faded away at about 2007.

Should I budget for an up-to-date replacement?

I have Cyntex chip in my 3.6 conversion ('94 engine) and it starts, runs, & drives quite well.
Possibly other issues to chase down before blaming chip ?? Vacuum, timing, etc.
That said, I am saving for a SW chip based on positive feedback on this forum.

Send an email to Steve Timmins and he'll point you in the right direction. He's done hundreds of these conversions. I doubt it's the chip. There are different versions of the software depending on how light the flywheel is.

There were multiple issues w/ some Cyntex chips
The 2 issues I had
1) very high idle speed
2) ignition breakup at ~6K

I ditched mine for S/W chips referenced above
