Difference between 1977 and 1978 pedal assembly?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the difference between a 1977 pedal assembly and a 1978 pedal assembly? I have a 1977 chassis that I'd like to install a 1978 pedal assembly on. Is this possible?

some of the early G cars came with shorter pedals. im not exactly sure what year was the switch over...

i would like to find a nice set of early pedals to covert over too...
