Fuchs Code Question- 7R wheels confirmation
I know a lot of 15x6 deeps have been converted to 7" by many popular wheel restoration folks, some excellent, some not so much. How can you confirm an original 7R wheel from a recently widened version? I have only seen a few what I believe to be 7R wheels, and all of them had date stamps only on the inside, no raised metal part stamp numbers like some of the other Fuchs wheels. The ink stamp in most cases was not visible or at best illegible. Anyone have pictures of real/original 7R codes? Did they have metal stamp/part numbers on them or just ink part numbers?

My understanding is real 7R's only had ink stamps, but I'm no expert. Post this at the EarlySreg and you'll get answers. Also, deep 6's that have been welded up as 7R's will be obvious from the weld bead.
