Rear speaker grill
Hello;
I've been looking to purchase some original rear speaker grills for my '84 Targa. Like many other 911, the original speaker grills got removed to put bigger audio system. I found some originals but now the seller tells me they only fit '86 to '89 models. Here's what I'm talking about: ![]() Can anyone confirm that Porsche had different size design from '84 to '89? Because the PET have the same part number through those years. Thanks! |

I suggest you use the search function. There are excellent reproduction grilles available. New ones are NLA, and used ones are very expensive.
Good luck, Dave

I have a 1985 Targa and mine looked exactly like that.
My originals had deteriorated and were cracked. I purchased from someone on PP (Matt Kellett?) a set of new surrounds that looked great and were the original size. I popped in my old mesh grills and everything looked close to stock (they New surrounds have "Porsche" tastefully etched on them). LS |

Agreed. My '84 coupe had the exact same grilles. I removed them because they were severely deteriorated/deformed.

Thanks you all for your replies.
So we can agree that the grills are the same through 84' to 89'? |

work product is perfect and much higher quality than originals. Resist the temptation to buy any old, expensive original grills as they will soon fall apart too! Get a set from Matt Kellett! By the way, Matt had to stop etching Porsche into his product, probably to avoid copyright problems. mlkellett@yahoo.com
