Found a 2.0 911 Engine

Recent picked up a what appears to be a 2.0 flat six engine. The left side bank of cylinders, and the cam/cam tower is missing; however, the heads for the left side came along for the ride.

It appears that this was a mechanical fuel injected engine, with the pull on the cam, and the fuel lines along the bottom.

If I decided to rebuild it, would mechanical injection, or Webers are the way to go?

there is A number stamped on the block by the sending unit that will tell you what you have Not the one that runs vertical it is behind the oil line Like (901/01 is solex) (901/02 is an S) so on and so forth MFI would be the Best If you Can find it

Hmmm, sounds like a '68 engine. Pulley for smog pump at the pulley end of engine, and lines beneath are for the air injectors in the exhaust port. If its MFI then it would have a toothed wheel at the flywheel end, and hard lines above the engine.

Stuart,

Took a peak at it again, and sure enough it appears to have the exhaust air hoses.

Is this engine worth rebuilding and placing a set of Webers on it for my 914 project?
