Did anyone mention Lemforder Turbo tierods? They are a must. Do them at the same time you install Elephant rubber bushings, stiffer T-bars, and a rack spacer. (I went to 21mm bars in the front on my cabriolet and am ready for 22mm)

If you want to take it to the next level, larger torsion bars, as mentioned, are a common upgrade. 21 and 26mm is a common size for upgrading for Targas. Not overly stiff, but firmer than stock.
Something else to consider is weight reduction. Less weight is a cost effective way to increase performance. Lots of threads on reducing weight on these cars.
