After Painting Brake Calipers - Where do you get that Porsche Decal?

I am ready to paint my brake calipers and after seeing that black "PORSCHE" scibed on the caliperss, I was wondering if that is a decal and where I would purchase them.

Anyone know anything on this?

Thanks
Bob

I am betting it is not a decal.

On some calipers it is actually in the aluminum casting (raised and non-painted). In others, it would be applied in high-temp paint. A decal cannot handle the heat generated during heavy braking.

Here is "PORSCHE" in raised aluminum - cast into the caliper.

There are other posts on this. Basically you can download the Porsche font, take a .jpg or better a vector file to your local swap meet (or bling-bling emporium) and there are usually a few guys with sticker machines. Have them make sticker (4 of them), but remove the letters, not the background. Put these on your calipers as a stencil, use a high-temp paint, and wallah - your Calipers say "Porsche". I think mine will say "Stop-Thing" or "caliper" or "Hand of God" (If I had big brakes).

There is a step by step for doing this in Pelican Parts tech pages that I downloaded a while back. The guy who posted that page (complete with pics) had the stickers custom made by a sign shop. His was red with white letters.
I wish I had big brakes too........ $$$one day?

BFrenz,

Got any more stencils? Can you make stencils for other applications?

Thx,

Joe
