Will 255s or wider fit under my rear fenders?

I'm looking to go as wide as possible on my Carrera.
Currently has option 205 in front and 225 in rear on 16".

I'm looking at getting some aftermarket wheels for my car and curious how wide I can go... can I stay with 16 or move up to 17??

(Would be nice if there was a wheel chart that shows what larger sized owners have confirmed fit so noobs like me can just order a new set of wheels based on someone else's experience)

Hello - took a look at the link below for a great visual and info on wheel fitment and spacing/offset.

Have you done a search?
This stuff has been posted innumerable times, and yes exact data no guesses.

275's fit, but you might have to roll the inside of the wheel well lip.
255's fit with no rubbing/rolling.

Agree that 255's are about it, not much room for error if you lower the car. Wider if you start "making space". And as Bill says, too many threads on this to count or read so take a look for a few hours.

I've found this tire/wheel fitment page very helpful. Enter your current wheel/tire specs, then compare with your planned tire/wheel upgrade:

That's a useful site.... let's me see where I need to put the offset on the wheels and gives me some idea on my options.
