Simple headlight screw question
Seem to be missing some hardware from when I stripped the car.
What size screw is needed to secure the lamp to the fender? And what size is needed for the single screw that secures the chrome trim ring? Trying not to pay 4 bucks for a single screw. Its a stock 1970t coupe and sugar scoops. Thanks! ![]() ![]() |

it is a special bolt you won't pay $4 for, more like $12.... $15 shipped.

Take a look at the hole inside the H/L cavity where the two screws go. If I recall correctly, they are 4-5 mm ** machine screws and the holes have nuts welded to the back of them. The mounting tabs for the side of the bucket are 20-25mm long -- there is plenty of room behind them. The one at the center bottom that holds the chrome ring is 5-6mm x ~20mm, countersunk head with Phillips screwdriver required. All of these bolts are readily available at the local hardware store.
Edit: **The screws that hole in the H/L bucket are shown as 4x10 cheese head. I used 4x20 pan head. Last edited by cmonref; 08-14-2017 at 07:37 AM.. |
