Introduction and First Question(s)

Hello All,
I found this 84 911 on the sale forum and purchased it back in May. Happy to report the car has performed flawlessly, including the initial drive from Vermont to Virginia. Excited to finally be an owner and looking forward to many miles of enjoyment.

Now to my question(s): I'm looking to replace the rear seat retaining straps and purchased the straps from our host. At some point, my rear parcel shelf was replaced and the male retaining straps were never re-installed, so I don't have a reference hole or any hardware.

So... where is the OEM location for the male strap, and what's the proper hardware to attach?

I purchased 19mm truss screws from our host, but I don't think they will be long enough. (I'm assuming the screws go through the parcel shelf and into the tub firewall, but not sure.)
BTW, did a quick dry fit of the replacement straps and was surprised at how hard I had to push the seatback to make everything work. Look like there is considerable tension / pressure on the parcel shelf attachment point. Is that right?

Circling back to this one after tackling a few other projects. Can someone confirm that "14" in the diagram is the correct screw to attach the seat strap to the rear shelf? Listed as a 16mm screw. The screw that secures the rear parcel shelf is 22mm, so I guess the screw for the seat retaining strap attaches to the parcel shelf only (not the firewall).

Am I reading this right, or am I confused?

yes you are correct. Also when you raise the rear seat backs the carpet folds up not down.
